Blurb:

Jamie Anderson knows you need to look before you leap, but he forgets it often enough to land in trouble. When his brother and only remaining family member disappears, he doesn’t think twice about quitting his job as a dental hygienist to travel to the Czech Republic to search for him.

Rescued by the sexy, mysterious Tomas in a small city near the German border, Jamie enlists his help in locating Rudy. Soon Jamie realizes the man knows more than he’s sharing. When Jamie demands Tomas tell him the truth, Tomas reveals he’s a vampire. Horrified the man he’s fantasized about is a monster, Jamie struggles with the fact he still needs Tomas's help to find Rudy.

Jamie never expects their search will land him in the middle of a vampire turf war.

Excerpt:

I took off at a brisk pace, heading directly toward my inn. My heart pounded, skipping a beat with every distant sound. Shallow pants escaped my mouth, sending a trail of mist into the air.

When I turned the corner and the inn came into view, I let out a sigh of relief and slowed my speed.

My path was suddenly blocked, and I stifled a scream, nearly stumbling backward.

“Well, hello.” Hans moved in front of me, a menacing sneer on his face. I backed away and bumped into Greta, who had sneaked up behind me.

“Get away from me,” I said firmly.

They both moved in close and started sniffing at me.

“Don’t touch me!”

I tried to push Hans away, but he grabbed my wrist and twisted my arm.

My knees buckled, and I screamed as pain shot up my arm. I gave him the most withering glare I could muster. “Tomas will kill you if you hurt me.”

Hans snickered. He looked at Greta. She began to laugh, and Hans joined in, until both of them were laughing so hard that they could barely breathe. While they were snorting and laughing like a pair of obnoxious hyenas, I managed to snatch my hand away from Hans.

“He thinks Tomas cares,” Hans managed to say between laughs.

Now they were really pissing me off.

“Honey,” said Greta as she reached up and caressed my head. “Tomas might feed from you, he might fuck you, but he doesn’t give a damn about you. You are nobody, human.” She spit out that last word like it left a bad taste in her mouth.

“You clearly don’t know him as well as you think you do.” I spoke with a confidence I didn’t feel. I had no reason to believe I was anything to Tomas other than a brief curiosity.

The sound of approaching footsteps had Hans turning his head to look over his shoulder. He shot Greta a look, and I took the opportunity to run.

I didn’t look back, and I didn’t stop until I was safe inside my room.
