A Little Fun-Carthera Trilogy Tales

So I recently decided that with a story accepted by a publisher that I should try to expand my readership even farther. Hopefully I'll pick up new fans that will be impressed enough with my writing to actually pay for a story I've written too. So, in order to do that, I've been working on my Carthera Trilogy. I created covers for them, and starting with Bonds Unbroken, I've been re-editing them. I plan to convert them myself, or find sites where I can do that. Right now I can do epub and mobi.

I'm researching putting the ebooks on Smashwords and Amazon, though I'm leery of doing Smashwords as no one I know has done it personally. Maybe if you read this, and you have done a Smashwords submission you can comment at the end and let me know how satisfied you are with it.

The best part of all of this? I'm not charging for the ebooks! That's right, the Carthera stories will continue to be free (so don't worry that you will suddenly have to pay to read Benny's story). I plan to continue to try to get my stories accepted at publishers, or if the stories aren't picked up by anyone, continue to self-publish and format the books like I have already done.

Right now the covers on my blog lead you to Gay Authors, my 'home' online fiction site, but that will change once I have them formatted. Okay, time to get back to writing!

Happy Friday!!

  2. Awesome plan Cia, can't wait! :)
About Smashwords, I know that M.A.Church/nomoretears00 uses it. I bought her new book "Nighttime Wishes" from Smashwords, so you can talk to her about it.
    Hope that helps.

    1. Actually NW was picked up by Romance First Publishing, so they put it on Smashwords, not M. I'm more wondering about the individual using the site than a publisher's results. But thanks!!!

  3. Will you let folks know when you publish? And how about a paperback option for the throwbacks who like that stuff?

    1. Hi Anon! Yes, I will most certainly post here when I have the stories ready and online for ebook download. Unfortunately, since I'm not 'selling' these and don't have the available cash to self-publish print books, ebooks will be all I offer. If you don't have an e-reader you can download adobe digital editions to read epub or kindle has a free computer app to read mobi files. Or you can continue to read the stories on GA and Literotica. Thanks for the questions!!

    1. Well, it will be self-published and they'll still be free, but I'm really glad you enjoyed them. Other works... well, we'll just have to see. I'm so glad you like my stories; I have a ton at GA so I hope you cruise that site and check out my short stories as well. Thanks for commenting!

  5. Great about the Carthera stories! I love that world. :)

Though I haven't published with Smashwords myself, a good friend of mine has. I interviewed Marshall on my blog a couple weeks ago. He told me formatting for Smashwords is pretty easy and he learned by using the tutorial. He put up a second collection of his stories this week. He's friendly. All info needed to track him down and ask questions is at the end of his interview, should you want to talk with him.

    1. Thanks Tali! I appreciate that help; I found his contact info and emailed him. I'm just very leery of putting my stories on sites I'm not sure of; I considered Lit for about 2 months before I moved forward with posting there.

  6. ePress-online released my dad's books, Needle and Dunbar Station. I don't know what the deal was, I know it was a small run. I really treasure them now that he is gone. I've still got a bunch of his manuscripts on my hard drive.

    1. Ahh, that's so cool! Maybe one day my kids will appreciate my stories; we'll just have to see. They're a little x-rated for a good many of them, lol.

    2. Once they are adults, they will understand. I have written a few slash fan fics (I know, worse than being a porn star in the writing world equivalency.) and while my daughter (17) will not discuss them with me, she has made a few comments that tells me she has read them at some point.

    3. My kids (adult) know all about my erotic writing and stories, both m/m and m/f. I told them about my books being published and they couldn't be prouder. The reason I could tell them: during our divorce, their father "outed" me to them, telling them their mother wrote filthy stories. He told my parents and siblings and everyone else, too. A few former friends abandoned me, but my family--for the first time ever--found me interesting. Not saying to run out and tell the kids, but in my case it turned out all right.
