Booooooring!

So, as a lark, I entered a contest on Kim Fielding's blog last night. She wanted a boring paragraph, and her kids would be the judge on what was the most boring. Now, what did I dislike the most as a kid? Shakespeare, well other than MacBeth and The Tempest. The rest are meh and gods, untangling Elizabethan style English... yeah, yawns! So this is what I came up with:

Hast thou come for me, at the waning of my twilight? No sound heralded thy approach, save that of my soul's entreaty. In winter night, at midnight's call, my bedchamber resounds with sonorousness of thy silent advent to sunder my mortal coils. Fosooth, most merrily dost I greet thee, a fulsome fate to some, but to this wearisome world I bid, not a lament from my lips, but a soft fare thee well.

LOL, so what do you think? Complicated enough to be boring? Meh, it was fun to try and be overly flowery and old-fashioned, so even if I don't win I had a good time.

If you like to write, you can submit up to 2 entries through August 19th! Info can be found at Kim's blog!

  1. Its definitely complicated enough to be boring but I think you should at least get an award for using "sonorousness" in a sentence. What a great word.

    1. That's what I thought! :P We'll see if they find it boring. I don't think I'd ever use sonorousness anywhere else, but it was a great word, wasn't it?:P
